Observation

Traffic on North Street moves at a speed that is noxious to Spanish Town residents.

Discussion

Four lanes in one direction guarantees the high speed.

Recommendation

Revert to one lane each way with parking both sides. Post signs outlawing parking during rush hours only.

Project Status

Revert to one-way. The Baton Rouge Downtown Transportation Plan did not recommend changing North Street to two-way because of the cost of reconfiguring the ramp from I-110 northbound.
